Available with the Claude MAX subscription, Cowork is an agent that accesses your folders, reads your files, modifies them, creates new ones, and chains multiple actions without you having to micromanage each step. You give it a mission like "analyze this data and produce a report" and it handles everything end to end.
The use cases are practical: create a document from scattered sources, analyze a dataset, organize files, prepare a meeting, draft messages. A compelling example: you can ask Cowork to compare prices for a product across multiple sites, find active promo codes, and generate a comparison table. All with a single instruction.
Privacy-wise, Claude only accesses the data and folders you explicitly authorize. Business extensions for finance, legal, and project management are currently being rolled out.
MCP Apps: your business tools directly in Claude
Claude now integrates third-party applications as native interfaces through the Model Context Protocol. In practice, you can use Slack, Asana, Monday, Canva, Figma, Amplitude, and other tools directly in Claude, without leaving the conversation.
It's not just about reading data. You can draft and send a Slack message, create an Asana task, modify a Figma design, explore Amplitude charts—all from the Claude interface. Applications open with their native interface, in real time. Salesforce via Agentforce 360 is announced for soon.
MCP is an open standard developed by Anthropic, which means any software vendor can offer integrations. The ecosystem will expand rapidly.
Claude in Excel: complete workbook analysis
Claude's integration in Excel solves a problem everyone knows: complex Excel files with dozens of tabs, nested formulas, and dependency chains impossible to untangle. Claude reasons across the entire workbook, cites exact cells, and answers your questions about the data in natural language.
